ABOUT US
Welcome to Finch & Toad
BY LEE HAGON
Here at Finch & Toad Upholstery, we believe in sympathetically restoring your much-loved pieces of furniture with creativity, high-quality materials and time-tested methods.
Lee is certified in 'Traditional Upholstery & Soft Furnishings' through the AMUSF and trained by the master upholsterer Richard Hooper of Tresithick Upholstery in Cornwall. Finch & Toad was established soon after in 2013. Having worked in the field of spatial design, TV and theatre and teaching product design, Lee has for the past 10 years, taught alongside her upholstery business a range of classes to help others develop their practical and creative skills.
Lee is an avid believer in doing something properly or not at all, she understands the importance of meaningful pieces and so be assured your furniture will be in good hands.
As a lover of Danish and Scandinavian design, with a keen interest in the likes of Carl Malmsten’s furniture, Lee is inspired by the Scandi lifestyle and the idea of ‘Hygge’. Finch & Toad’s mission through transforming your furniture is to help bring the comforting feeling of ‘Hygge’ into your home whilst you fall back in love with your treasured piece.
We specialise in restoring and reupholstering mid-century and antique furniture using traditional techniques, as well as small and medium-sized modern pieces utilising sustainable and contemporary upholstery methods.
Based in Spalding, Lincolnshire, we work with clients across Lincolnshire and also Norfolk and London. We have enjoyed working with a number of designers to assist with launching new fabrics and product ranges. Our upholstery classes are designed to help you restore the pieces you love whilst learning new skills and techniques.
Please take a look at our various upholstery services, upholstery classes and workshops and browse our gallery too. We’d love to hear from you and so please get in touch here to discuss your next upholstery project!
